She provides powerful resumes and career strategies for thousands of clients throughout the United States and over 47 countries overseas. Beginning in 1996, Sue brought her resume business to the Internet, where her personalized and focused services continue to help job seekers of every level achieve their career and business goals.Sue expanded her marketing services to the business community in 2000, helping small businesses and professional organizations develop profitable marketing plans, formalize their marketing strategies and achieve their marketing goals, including creation and development of business websites (e-commerce).Sue is featured in the book "Job Hunting for the Utterly Confused," by Jason Rich, as well as several articles on job hunting written by Jason for the Boston Herald. She is also featured in the book "Job Seekers Guide for Success," by Deborah McGeorge, and the college textbook, "Essential Readings in Business Communications," Edition 01 (Kendall/Hunt Publishing). For several years, Sue created and published "Smart Presentations," a highly successful monthly publication distributed to professional resume writers and human resource professionals, worldwide. Sue served as the Career Counseling Expert of the Young Professionals Club, a popular section of the Family Network, and she was the Wizop (Lead Forum Manager) and Career Management Specialist for E-Span's Career Management Forum on CompuServe. From 2005 through 2007, Sue enjoyed a partnership with the Durham Herald-Sun, a 50,000 circulation daily newspaper in Durham, NC, where she provided resume and career management support to readers via the newspaper's job search website. Alas, the newspaper joined a vast majority of newspapers that use the larger database engines, such as Yahoo Jobs, etc. (I still miss the great job hunters of Durham!!)Sue is a contributing writer and career expert for BC Advantage magazine, the only business oriented magazine for the medical billing and coding industry. She has been featured in articles on job hunting for publications that include: Woman's Day magazine by writer Russ Wild, author of "Career Smarts: 201 Guiding Principles from the World's Best and Brightest," "Careers HotSite," by Jim Battey for InfoWorld, "Next Generation Resume - Launch your Resume on the Top with Electronic Technology," by Terry Deal for Graduating Engineer Magazine, "Internet can be a Powerful Method to Search for Jobs," by Steve Watkins for Business First Magazine, and a contributing expert in the article "35 Ways to Land a Job" by Gina Imperto for Fast Company magazine, among many others.
In the mean time, Sue continues to make her Website a valuable resource for job hunters. Updated daily, the information is always fresh and current, and should give visitors something of interest during every visit. The site offers thousands of direct links to some of the best career-related information and Websites on the Net, as well as articles on resume preparation, cover letters, interviewing, networking, and much more. See What Clients Have Had To Say About 1st-Writer About the 1st-Writer.com Resume Writing ProcessThe most important thing I want potential clients to understand is that I never subcontract work to outside writers or agencies. I work with each and every client on a one-to-one basis. If you hire me, you get me not some unknown, outside contractor hired by me. Go with one of the bigger resume writing companies or marketing agencies (and some of the smaller ones, too) and you may never know who is working on your documents. The second most important thing I want potential clients to understand is that this is a working process between me and the client. I don't use a cookie-cutter approach in the creation of any document. I don't hand a client a resume or create a marketing plan without doing a lot of communication with the client, first. While I do have a very detailed understanding of what hiring managers are looking for in the resumes they receive and in the potential candidates they interview, I need the opportunity to get to know a client in order to create documents that honestly and productively reflect his or her unique skills, achievements and career goals. This can only be achieved through active communication with the client. I offer a variety of resume writing services that should help job seekers of every level achieve their career and business goals. And while my fees are competitive, unlike some resume writing services, they shouldn't take your breath away. The same is true with marketing plans and business strategies. Without understanding a company's unique strengths, weaknesses, goals, objectives, targeted markets and competition (in addition to several other key items), I can not create effective marketing tools. A cookie-cutter approach simply does not work and would be a disservice to those who hire me. For the business client, my business writing services range from professional bios to full marketing plans, and everything in-between. If you want to see samples of my resume work you will not find them here. Client confidentiality is a top priority for me - and clients have paid good money for me to create their unique documents (see Privacy Policy). However, I have created a resume example page that shows a fictional resume in all the formats job candidates need: ASCII (scannable resume), HTML (resume Web page), MS Word (word processed resume) and PDF, along with explanations regarding how each of these formats is used. When you hire me to write your resume or CV, you receive your resume document in all of these formats, as well. Company or business Web sites and client ads that I have developed (non-resume) are the only work I will openly display on my Web site, because providing these with additional exposure helps my clients. You can also see fictional examples of professional bios I have written on the Professional Bios page. For those who want to tackle the resume writing process on their own, you can find some good resume template examples at Microsofts Office Template Gallery, as well as various resume books available in your local library and bookstore. If you e-mail me, Ill even be glad to recommend a few of the better books to you. A professional critique will help you get that resume to a powerful finish. You don't have to hire me in order for me to want to help you - so feel free to e-mail me with any job search or marketing questions you may have. This is a very personalized service, and it is important to me that every client feels the level of priority and importance I place on his or her project. This is why I say, If you dont feel like the most important client Ive ever worked for, then I haven't done my job. Should I Hire a Professional Resume Writer? / 1st-Writer.com Services Tennis Shoes?
